Having permanently been out of school for almost two years Time has ceased to exist. Seasons only rarely rear their head in Los Angeles. Today is one such exception and it got me thinking. Thinking about a lot of things, but at the forefront of my head was 2010. Over my incredibly short lived career as a graphic designer I’ve noticed that the projects I’ve encountered tend to be fleeting. Projects seem to last no longer than 3 months. Some of this has to do with my inability to focus and commit to projects, some of this is the shear inundation of anxiety that is the result of questions such as, “Who are you?” As I contemplate I look forward to confronting this obstacle and committing to something more lasting. I welcome along with the new decade a rejuvenation of thought in practice and in landscape as I prepare to attend a trial period at Fabrica, Benetton’s Communication and Research Center. I will be traveling for a couple of weeks afterwards through Europe as I make my way back to the City of Angels. I would like to take the time to formally ask for any suggestions for sights and travels. If you happen to be in the area, I’d love to meet up! After doing some preliminary research my slated itinerary is as follows—
Los Angeles → Venezia → Treviso → Milano → Berlin → Stockholm → Amsterdam → London → New York City →

Tonight I head back to my alma mater to perform with my fellow alumni, COLLABO. We’ve been summoned by the class of 2010 for the Undergraduate Show Matter. It should be a great event chalk-full of multimedia works and live performances from George & Jonathan and GZA whom we are providing visuals for. If you are in the Westwood area why not stop by and say hello? Event details are as follows—
New Wight Gallery
240 Charles E. Young Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90095
5PM → LATE
I began taking a class at The Public School this past Sunday. It was great little introduction into Open Frameworks and am very excited to take my knowledge of Processing to the next level with more Low-Level code. There is much to learn. For more information on Open Frameworks you can check out the wiki to the class page. There is one more class next Sunday.
2009 has been a blast. I’ve learned and experienced so much. Twenty-ten shan’t be any different. I’d like to wish you all Happy Holidays and a joyous New Year. This picture is of my office called Freelance Republic which I use and share with 4 other stand-up blokes. If I didn’t personally send you a holiday card, then check it out here! I hope you’re as excited as I am for this new decade. See you guys in the new year!
